Vacancies
We're always on the hunt for committee volunteers. We currently have the following positions available and require them filled! It is crucial these roles are filled as soon as possible. Without these roles - we simply cannot offer our services to you parents and parents-to-be. We currently have the following vacancies:
Sales Coordinator
Sales Coordinator
This is a volunteer role that can be completed entirely from home and currently only takes me a couple of hours each month. There is no requirement to attend Committee meetings, although you will always be most welcome.
DUTIES
- Receive an email each month from the CBE Class Coordinators to let you know how many blankets/fleeces have been sold
- Place orders with the two suppliers via email for blankets/fleeces to arrive at your house
- Advise Coordinators once the blankets/fleeces have arrived and arrange a time for them to collect
- Advise the Treasurer once the blankets/fleeces arrive so that they can pay the invoices
- Check the WNPC bank account to make sure that all internet payments from the CBE Class participants have come through
- Submit a report each month to the committee to let them know how many blankets/fleeces you sold and how many you ordered
- We get occasional queries to purchase blankets outside of the CBE Classes so I keep a few of the more popular colours at my house
- Up to you how many blankets/fleeces you wish to keep on hand, depending on how much storage space you have at home
- There is room for you expand this role to include other products WNPC might be interested in distributing if you so desire
As you can see, this role is easy to pick up and run with. However, the skills developed in this role could be summarised as inventory management, demand forecasting and relationship management, which would all look fantastic on a CV upon returning to work.
If this sounds like you, please feel free to give Emma a call on 477 4312 or email sales@wnpc.org.nz
Centre Editor
Centre Editor - The Sandbox
The Sandbox is Wellington region's Parents Centre magazine. The Sandbox has been around in various forms since 1993, starting out as 'Popsicle'. It is part of your Parents Centre membership and is produced by people just like you, for you.
Centre Editors from Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Mana, Wellington North & Wellington South Parents Centres meet every couple of months to plan the content for The Sandobx.
WNPC needs a new Centre Editor to attend planning meetings, contribute content (e.g articles, interviews, reviews, 'blogs') and liaise with the WNPC Committee to ensure our Centre information is up to date (e.g. class info).
You might have a background in journalism or might just want to try something new!
Contact hr@wnpc.org.nz if you would like to know more.
Marketing
Marketing
Our Marketing Coordinator is leaving our shores so we're looking for someone new to help raise WNPC’s profile in the community and promote our services.
The role offers lots of flexibility and you're welcome to focus on your strengths and adapt the role to suit your interests. The sorts of things it could involve include:
- helping create promo material e.g. posters for classes, special events and so on
- looking into new signage e.g. flag/banners on a stand
- helping to advertise classes and services e.g. look into regular ads in free community listings and possibly paid advertising, and any other more creative means!
- seeking feedback from members e.g. designing and carrying out little surveys
- contributing ideas for promoting WNPC in The Sandbox
- generating ideas for competitions, fundraising, social events
- helping improve member retention.
You might have a background in PR or marketing, have some design flair, or be really organised and help us keep on top of our advertising in a more systematic way.
Time-wise, you can do as much or as little as you'd like.
If you think you could assist in any of these areas we'd love to hear from you.
Email hr@wnpc.org.nz for more info.

There are regular events that we hold such as the Annual Movie Night and Children’s Christmas Party, but there is scope to add your own innovation and ideas in this fun, flexible role.
