Course Information
Baby & You (0 - 4 months)
Aimed at helping you settle into and enjoy parenthood. It follows on from your childbirth education classes; run in a series of four workshops. Covers various issues likely to arise during very early parenting, like birth and feeding experiences, sleep relationships, development and toys, returning to the paid workforce.
Baby Talk 'Baby Sign'
Learn Baby Sign Language and use simple gestures with your hearing child to allow you to communicate long before they have mastered the intricacies of speech. Includes Baby Sign reference chart.
Behaviour Management for Toddlers (18 - 36 months)
Learn how to deal with all the different behaviours your child may develop as a toddler.
Childhood Health & Illnesses
Medical practitioner discussing illnesses and first-aid basics. An essential course for parents of under 5 year olds!
CPR for Babies & Toddlers
Learn how to save a baby's life with CPR. It takes just a couple of hours to learn theses vital life-long skills. Includes how to help a choking baby.
Growing Healthy Children – natural approaches to family health you might not know about
A Chiropractor and Natural Health Therapist from Back to Living Chiropractic present this seminar on natural approaches to health for the whole family.
Chiropractors deal with the nervous system, removing interference caused by everyday stress or one-off trauma events. Chiropractic is a non-drug, non-surgical way to reach relief from an amazing variety of symptoms such as asthma, headaches, colic, earaches, allergies and stress-related illness.
The seminar takes about an hour and then the Back to Living team offers a free thermal neck scan and spinal assessment. For more information you can check out their website here.

Understanding Natural Fertility can help women who want to understand their cycle better; couples who want to conceive a healthy baby at a specific time; men and women who want to improve their health, energy and libido; couples who want to reduce the risk of miscarriage; & couples who want to improve their chance of conceiving a boy or a girl!

Getting your Child into Good Sleeping Patterns
Helpful tips for parents of babies and toddlers who have unsettled sleep patterns. The class includes establishing realistic routines, development issues and how much sleep your child needs. Learn how to encourage your child to sleep in the day or night.
Moving & Munching (4 - 12 months)
Discover what your child will be doing developmentally in their first year, and get tips and tricks for introducing and continuing solids. This course is held in two sessions: Munching & then Moving.
Session One – Munching – Introduction to solids (4-12 months)
The Munching session covers introducing solid foods to your baby in stages (Stage one - 6 months; Stage two - 7-8 months; and, Stage three - 8-12 months) and lots of helpful information on:
- cooking baby food
- continuing your baby’s milk feeds
- storing and freezing baby foods safely
- using commercial baby foods
- progressing towards finger foods
- progressing to family meals.
This class includes the Baby Food & Beyond recipe book by Alison & Simon Holst.
Session Two – Moving – Physical development in the first year
The Moving session gives information on your baby's physical development and lots of ideas to encourage your baby's movement.
Planning for the future – Wills, enduring powers of attorney & all those things we don’t get around to
Do you have a current Will? Do you know what ‘enduring powers of attorney’ are? Have you thought about who you would like to appoint as a Guardian for your child, and do you know what this means?
This seminar by Public Trust will explain why these things are important and how you can act now to make plans for the future. If you’re expecting your first child now is an ideal time to think about these things; you’ll only get busier once your baby has arrived! If you have a young family, take this opportunity to learn about a whole bunch of legal stuff you might not have thought about.
Pregnant Again
This is a two-session course designed to refresh your childbirth knowledge before #2 comes. Topics include what to expect from another pregnancy, caring for yourself, relaxation exercises, survival techniques for coping with a new baby and a toddler, changes in family dynamics.
Speech & Language Development (10 - 24 months)
Just getting "ba,ba,ba"? Learn about speech and language development and ways to encourage speech in children aged 10 to 24 months.
Toddler Nutrition
This class helps with ways to tackle the sometimes difficult task of feeding your toddler. It covers:
- snack ideas
- eating family meals
- amounts of dairy for toddlers
- weaning to cups.
The format of this class allows you to ask heaps of questions and learn from the experiences of other parents.
Toilet Training
Get information to help you make a decision about when to start toilet training your toddler. Learn how to get started and make this a satisfying experience for the whole family!
