We're always on the hunt for committee volunteers.  We currently have the following positions available and require them filled!  It is crucial these roles are filled as soon as possible.  Without these roles - we simply cannot offer our services to you parents and parents-to-be. We currently have the following vacancies:

President

We need a leader!

We have a great committee but need a leader to ensure the centre runs smoothly and continues to go from strength to strength. The key tasks involved for this role are:

  • Overseeing all areas of the centres operation. Delegating but being aware of what's happening and being available to listen, answer questions and help solve problems;
  • Team leader - ensuring moral is kept high, and team members are enthusiastic and motivated to carry out their tasks;
  • Main committee - chairing meetings and liaising with other office holders and subcommittees; and
  • Communicating information to and from other centres and national office.

The role is well supported by a Secretary and Vice President (currently vacant) and good systems and processes are in place.

Librarian (Khandallah)

If you have a few spare hours a month, this voluntary role may be for you. It involves:

  • maintaining and stocktaking the Khandallah WNPC books, in conjunction with the Karori librarian;
  • following up overdue books;
  • opening the library stand when requested;
  • recommending new books/videos for purchase; and
  • the occasional book review

This role does NOT require attendance at our Committee meetings.

Parent Education Convenor

This role needs to be filled NOW in order for our Parent Education courses to continue!

This voluntary role involves organising our parent education courses. Below is an outline of what the role entails:

  • Contacting the course speakers 2 months prior to each course to confirm availability (course topics and dates have been preset for the year and the venues have been booked for the year);
  • Organise advertising via posters, emails, The Sandbox, and Tots to Teens;
  • Liaise with the Parent Education Bookings Coordinator in terms of enrolments;
  • Maintenance (ie. ordering or photocopying) of the resources required for the courses;
  • Maintenance of Class Coordinator information packs (organising to get the packs and venue key to/from Class Coordinators);
  • Banking course payments;
  • Answering course enquiries;
  • Setting next year's schedule in October (based on current timetable) and book venues; and
  • Attendance of monthly Committee meetings (generally held second Monday in each month).

The role would involve on average 2.5 hours per week of your time.
